Clube de Golf Santo da Serra

In the hills of Santo António da Serra, with open views over Machico Bay, Clube de Golf Santo da Serra combines tradition and mountain terrain in a layout that demands constant attention. The club opened in 1937 with a nine-hole course and, in 1991, Robert Trent Jones Sr. redesigned the property to create the current 27-hole, par-72 layout. The course is arranged in three nine-hole loops: Machico, Desertas and Serras. Palheiro Golf

Palheiro Golf, located 500 metres above sea level on the hillside overlooking Funchal Bay, offers a layout that combines pronounced elevation changes with wide-open views of the Atlantic. The course is an 18-hole, par-72 design by Cabell B. Robinson, opened in 1993. Since then, it has established itself as one of Madeira’s leading courses. The routing makes use of natural ridges and valleys, with tees and fairways that force you to think carefully about both line and trajectory. The round is structured into five par 3s, nine par 4s and four par 5s, a sequence that balances rhythm and difficulty.
