Located about an hour from Porto and 15 minutes from Chaves, on the edge of the Spanish border, the spectacular Vidago Palace Hotel first opened in 1910. One hundred years later it still maintains the same splendor and service for which it was once known. In 2010, it was reborn as a true legend. Completely rebuilt and remodeled, the building's architectural heritage has been preserved and it once again asserts itself as a benchmark for the finest luxury hotels in Europe. The hotel has 70 rooms and suites, a thermal spa, golf course, six restaurants and bars, making it a perfect destination for a golf getaway.
Vidago Palace GC
The Vidago golf course was redesigned by Cameron and Powell on the original design of Mackenzie Ross (Turnberry) dating from 1936, which included only 9 holes. The contrast between the old and the new is clearly defined by the centenary trees that accompany us during the first 4 holes and lead us to the Oura valley, where we start the more modern course. The tees elevated on native rock walls are one of the main signs of identity of this course. The last 3 holes that welcome us again surrounded by impressive trees, narrow fairways and spectacular views are, undoubtedly, the finishing touch to a course that is worth knowing.
