Nestled in the oak-wooded hills of Sotogrande, Valderrama is widely regarded as Europe’s premier golf course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., it hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup—the first time the event was played on continental Europe—along with numerous elite tournaments. Expect narrow fairways, strategically-placed bunkers and fast, undulating greens that demand precision at every stroke.
Situated near Casares on the Mediterranean coast, Finca Cortesín offers a strikingly modern championship layout characterised by over 100 bunkers, wide fairways and exceptional greens. Designed by Cabell Robinson, it is ranked among Spain’s best and stands out for blending luxury resort amenities with a top-tier golfing challenge.
Opened in 2003 and perched above the Mediterranean within the Sotogrande estate, La Reserva features sweeping fairways, large and undulating greens, and strategic water hazards. Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, it is a modern championship venue that is consistently ranked among Spain’s top courses.
Inaugurated in 1964 as the first European course by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Old Course at Sotogrande blends classic parkland style with strategic bunkering and elevated greens. It has hosted major events and remains a significant historic course in Spain’s golf landscape.
The Links course offers stunning views of the Mediterranean and an 18-hole, par 72 design. Created by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark in 1992, it was completely renovated in 2021 by Kurtis Bowman, transforming it into a modern and sustainable course.
The remodeling included the renovation of tees, greens, and bunkers, featuring a large surface green. With wide fairways, strategic bunkers, and gentle slopes descending to a nearly 2 km beach, it is a challenging and high-quality course.
Even more open to the sea, Links provides exceptional views of the Costa del Sol, Gibraltar, and Africa from all its greens.
