Golf Son Vida

Golf Son Vida holds a unique place in the history of golf in Mallorca. Opened in 1964, it was the island’s first course and remains a benchmark for its classic character and demanding layout.

Originally designed by F.W. Hawtree and updated in 2001 under the direction of Kurt Rossknecht, the course retains an identity true to its origins, with adjustments that suit the modern game without losing coherence. The course has 18 holes and is a par 71.

It unfolds within an established residential setting, among gentle hills, mature pines, and open views towards Palma and its bay. The front nine is narrower and more undulating, with tee shots that demand placement and precise iron play.

On the back nine, the terrain opens up, the fairways become somewhat wider, and the pace changes, although the strategic challenge remains to the end. The well-protected greens, with subtle breaks, reward careful reading more than aggression.

The 18th hole, a par 5 with water in play, neatly captures the spirit of the course: it invites decisions and requires you to accept the consequences, without unnecessary drama.

Golf Son Vida has hosted professional tournaments and welcomed top-level players, but its true value lies in the consistency of its design.
